"Day Five - The Cash Project"

Let's put on our tool belt and knock this painting out today and take the day off tomorrow - I don't feel like painting on Easter Sunday. Today is a day of refinement. You already have in place the bulk of your painting, we will just be tweaking what is already on the paper. The hair gets it's final darks at the bottom and I also bring the background color into the highlight of the hair to bring the shine. We then put the final touches on the ear, mouth and eye areas by layering wash after wash to build the depth as well as to make sure that the darks are deep enough to help the highlights around them stand out. The hand is modeled to give the feeling of movement while not moving at all and the cigarette and it's smoke trail are finished as well. I have had fun working on this painting with you and hope your painting turned out to suit your tastes. Sign your name. We will be back on Monday with a new person to paint and maybe we will choose a female this time! Enjoy!
