"Step Two"

At this stage of the painting you should have your panels gessoed and sanded and ready to put your drawing on the boards. To help me with continuity from board to board I usually like to attach all three pieces to a backer board so that when the painting is finished it can be taken apart. If you feel that you don't need this help this stage can be skipped. Next I apply a very detailed drawing to the boards that will allow me to work the colors in stages. I would also at this time apply the background color (the blue) from top to bottom and side to side. This is my background shade that will allow the other colors to be built on top. We will pick up here tomorrow. Enjoy!
