"Chrome Angel"

Here is another of the car renditions, this one the technique used is a little different. I started with the airbrush and sprayed the background from top to bottom in a fade. Then added the car in black and white tones only. Next came the pink circle  and then the hood ornament that was in full color. The final part to the painting was the shine that was applied to both hood ornaments. Using the airbrush for these sparkle effects, this enabled me to really get the feel and look of a flash of light. I like the feel of the painting in the fact that it is not just a photo copy but has some design to it. When you are painting in monotone or one color it makes you very aware of your lights and darks and how you apply them beside each other to achieve the look of a full color piece. I hope you like the change in the way we attacked this latest piece and tomorrow I will bring you another car that is painted in a totally different technique. Enjoy!
