"Advertising Art"

In my career as an artist I have used the automobile in many different ways. The piece you see here came from a back cover that I created when I worked for Time-Warner Cable. We produced weekly cable magazines for 55 major markets across the nation and I was in charge of the artwork that was created for all the magazines. This illustration was done in black and white and then colorized from there. The odd angle and the mass of black on the car draw the viewer's eye into the page and also into the very point of the advertisement. At the bottom you will see type that is included, I cropped the picture for use here, but in the original ad there was copy below and a coupon to fill out as well. As you can see this piece was very striking and the contrast holds the viewer long enough to read the copy, thus effectively doing its job. I hope you have enjoyed all the uses and styles of automobile art that we have brought you this week and we will return with more in the future. Enjoy!
