Pride King

Today we bring you an animal portrait, not in watercolor but in acrylic. When painting in the scale that this portrait was done, many times I change to acrylic paints. This piece of art is 30" wide and almost 42" tall and was done as a pair with a "cheetah" that you will see tomorrow. I still own these two paintings but they are both retired to the attic, also know know as the graveyard of art in my household. When a piece falls out of the rotation to be hung in the house, it gets banished to the graveyard. Currently there are probably 10 pieces that reside there. My son was digging around in the attic and came across the stack and brought to my attention that they were even up there. I painted these two pieces many years ago and sort of lost touch with them. The scale makes them difficult to hang and many people don't have the space to show them. Someday when I am gone and they are selling off my paintings maybe these will be bought and shown again. Until then my blog audience is the only one that will get to view these pieces. Hope you Enjoy!
