"Mandolin at Dusk"
I hope you all enjoyed the guest artist this weekend, and we look forward to bringing you new artist in the future. But this painting is mine and is from many years ago. It's a painting of contradictions, warm palette, cold shadows, conservative theme with colors gone wild. Acrylic on gessoed board is the base of the painting and then a little airbrush applied as well makes this painting a scene stealer. It definitely is not for the faint of heart or for the timid. It hangs in the collection of my aunt Hazel and anchors a wall of my art. I have mentioned in the past that I have been very lucky that my family and friends have bought my artwork in the past. This has allowed me to pursue this medium in a way that wouldn't have been possible without their help. I am always very grateful to sell a piece, not for the money that it brings, but for the opportunity it affords me to paint the next one. Please visit my on-line gallery at Fine Art America - Kirby Crow and see all the originals and prints that are available for sale. We will return tomorrow with another post and we hope that you will leave your comments on the website, they are appreciated. Enjoy!
