Long Shadows

Today we start a new series of still life paintings. I know still life is actually one word but it looks too weird to type it that way. Anyway we will be bringing you in the next week or so many new paintings that deal with common everyday items in a uncommon way. This piece you see here is an acrylic painting on stretch canvas, a very distinct departure for me and my watercolor's on paper. The scale of this painting is what makes it stand out as well, it's almost 4' x 4'. I painted this painting from a photo that I found online taken by a photographer that specializes in fruit. Yes I said fruit. The tomato is technically a fruit, but is seen as a vegetable because it is used in "savory" dishes. One more reason that this painting is kind of a strange journey. Hope you like what you see here and we will be back tomorrow with another piece of art. Keep visiting our online galleries via the links at the upper left corner of this blog. We have added some more pieces that are for sale and I am engaged in 7 or 8 showings that I need your votes on. And remember to leave your comments on the blog so that we can make changes that will help us improve and keep this site going. Thanks Again and pass this site on to as many friends as possible.
