"After the Storm"
I wanted to revisit this painting at this time because of the parallels that it invokes. Watercolor, to me, is a medium that is graduated changes in color and spontaneous accidents that work. The problem is making a piece like this work without making a page full of mud. The color changes were quick and abrupt but thought was put before action to keep the colors bright and vibrant. This is the first piece that I ever had prints made of and still sale today. The subject matter wasn't difficult, but the scale of the painting makes it work. I am basically starting over with my career and hope to dedicate myself to my art and my painting even more than in the past. Losing my friend has made me want to leave something behind that is better than what I have done so far. Art is a learning curve that never ends. I want to experience even more aspects of art than I have before, and I hope you join me on my journey. Enjoy!
