"Old Man"

The piece of art you see here is pen and ink on coquille board. The technique is stipling, small dots of ink used to shade and form the illusion of dark and light. Highlights are left untouched and the background of the board comes through. Planning and pre-drawing are the artists best friend here, you can't take away a dot but you can always add one. This portrait is of no one important, just an exercise to work on technique. The one spooky thing is the eyes. They seem to follow you wherever you go. Just something to think about. Enjoy!
