"The King and Bear"
I thought we would have a little fun today with this piece. I painted this portrait of Arnold Palmer (The King) and Jack Nicklaus (The Bear) for a charity auction for Cancer Research. Every year in September, my family hosts a golf tournament, silent auction, live auction and various fundraisers to raise money for Cancer Research. It has grown over the past 14 years to be one of the largest tournaments of its kind and the volunteers and the money raised are just unbelievable. I feel very lucky to be a part of this every year and this year is no exception. Golf was something I used to have a great passion for, playing sometimes as much as four times a week. Thus after many years the burnout came and I moved on to something else. My son loves to play golf and when the time is right I think he will have that same passion for the game as I did and his grandad did before me. I hope you enjoy this post and I look forward to bringing you a guest artist this weekend. Our guest brings a different style to the blog, digital art, and it will expand our boundaries and I hope you will tell others to sign in and read our daily blog. Enjoy!
