"INSPIRATION"

This is my Grandmother or "Mamaw" as we all called her. As rough and gruff as my grandfather was (you saw his portrait yesterday) Mamaw was just the opposite. Nurturing and teaching was her gift to us. She gave to me her love of reading which I still enjoy everyday. She never like to have her photograph taken, so this picture was one of the few that I had to choose from. When I was young, my sister and I would go to my Grandparent's house everyday after school and to this day that was some of the most fond memories I have of growing up. When I first started taking watercolor lessons I painted a picture of a barn scene that wasn't very good but I was so proud of. It was a gift from me to my Mamaw and she hung it in her living room on a very prominent wall. I thought I had really done something special when all along it was her that had done something special. She gave me the courage to keep painting and to get better. My Grandparents are all gone now, but they live on in their Grandkids. I hope you Enjoy!
