"Front Porch News"

Come have a seat next to me and we will travel back to a slower time, a more peaceful time. This painting was commissioned by one of my best friends, Joe Trojacek. Many years ago when he was building his new home on the "family place" he asked me to paint this picture to hang in his new living room. He had two things that he wanted in the painting - he wanted simple and he wanted warmth. I hope that I gave him both. When you first look at this piece you don't see much, but after further review there are subtle things that catch your eye. The monochrome sky is bland but throws off very unique shadows from the chairs. The uniquely different architecture of the chairs is not easily noticeable. The design of the columns against the bland porch. All of these qualities make up the ying and the yang of this watercolor painting. I hope you like it as well as the person that I painted it for. I also want to bring to your attention the bottom of this blog. I have added three more portraits that I am very proud of. Not proud because they are great paintings but because they are my family - Daughter, Son & Dad. There are many times that I paint portraits of my family not because I am better than the camera - but because I believe I can capture their spirit better than the lens. I hope you enjoy! I want you to visit my new gallery site - AutomotiveArtists.com. I have just been accepted and will bring faster links in the coming days.
