Family and Friends

It was real nice to see all the family and friends that I got to spend time with this past holiday weekend. Everyone is traveling home and some are stranded in strange airports and cities. I am very thankful to be home in my own house and with my family. Next to this post is the next painting of the car series. I don't know that all these paintings will make the final cut, that decision will be made at a later time. We try to mix color variations and styles of paintings as well. Most of these paintings are watercolor, but some are done in acrylic. The difference in the paints is also evident in the looseness of the painting, with acrylic usually being a more controlled look. I tend to like the feel of the watercolor, but when you spend so much time with the drawing of these cars you want the final painting to be tight and controlled - which you can usually get closer with this style in acrylic.
