I wanted to post this picture of my first endeavor in the field of sculpture. This piece is of "Orca" the killer whale as he is cresting from a jump. It was carved from a solid piece of bass wood and then colorized with epoxy paint. It probably looks pretty crude to the normal observer but was very time consuming for this novice. I hope to continue this line and also branch out into clay modeling that can be turned into bronze. I am still studying the techniques that are involved in sculpture as well as aquiring the tools that a sculptor uses.
